Mark Takano, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 39th district since 2013, has recently shared several updates on social media concerning legislative actions and personal reflections. Born in Riverside, California in 1960, Takano graduated from Harvard University in 1983 and currently resides in Riverside.

On March 13, 2025, Mark Takano tweeted about the House Democrats' stance on a four-week funding extension aimed at preventing harmful cuts and keeping the government operational. He emphasized the readiness of his colleagues to vote on this measure at any time during that week. "House Democrats stand united for a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts, keeps government open, and allows Congress to reach a bipartisan funding agreement."

Later that day, he expressed his condolences on social media following the passing of Representative Raúl Grijalva. He referred to Grijalva as a "true progressive warrior" and directed followers to read his full statement regarding the loss. "We have lost a true progressive warrior. Read my full statement on the passing of Rep. Raúl Grijalva."

In another tweet from March 13, Takano addressed concerns about some Senate Democrats possibly reconsidering their opposition to a controversial funding bill associated with Trump and Musk. He warned against such support, suggesting it would equate to taking resources away from veterans and taxpayers. "I've heard whispers some Senate Dems are wavering in their opposition to the Trump-Musk funding bill."
