Mark Takano, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 39th district since 2013, has expressed his concerns on several pressing issues through social media posts in March 2025. Takano, who resides in Riverside, California and is an alumnus of Harvard University, has taken to the platform X to voice his opinions on education policy, free speech rights, and Social Security.

On March 20, 2025, Mark Takano criticized Secretary McMahon for allegedly undermining American students' access to quality education. He stated that it is "impossible to complete the work the Department of Education is charged to do with a fraction of the resources and a fraction of the staff." "Secretary McMahon has been directed to deny American students their right to a free and fair education."

The following day, March 21, 2025, Takano addressed issues related to free speech and immigration policy. He asserted that disagreement with presidential opinions does not justify expulsion from the country. Emphasizing his commitment to free speech rights for all residents of the United States, he declared: "If the President disagrees with your opinions, that does not give him the right to kick you out of our Country."

On March 22, 2025, Takano voiced strong opposition against administrative views regarding Social Security checks. Criticizing what he perceives as fiscal mismanagement favoring wealthy tax breaks at the expense of vulnerable seniors, he remarked: "The real fraud here is shuttering the agency charged with keeping seniors out of poverty and off the streets."
