On April 18, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) voted to override President Joe Biden’s veto of H.J. Res. 27, bipartisan legislation that would protect Americans from the Biden Administration’s overreaching and damaging “Waters of the United States” or WOTUS rule. Rep. Calvert is a cosponsor of the resolution to overturn this rule and restore local control and common sense to small businesses and farmers. The vote to override the President’s veto failed to reach the required 2/3rds majority required for passage.

“The Biden Administration’s WOTUS rule would dramatically expand the federal government’s authority over privately-owned lands and weaken their property rights,” said Rep. Calvert. “By targeting farmers and small business owners, the Biden Administration is once again taking nonsensical actions that are going to raise the cost of food and other goods. I don’t believe you need a bigger government to protect the environment and will continue to fight for policies that properly balance our economic and environmental protections.”
