CORONA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: A Message From Our CEO and President, Bobby Spiegel

Interviewmedia

Corona Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.

My thoughts on this Monday morning run deep… As the holiday season is upon us, and many are struggling more than ever before. To those who have excelled and improved Congratulations!! You survived 2020! To say this year has been challenging would be an understatement.  We’ve all been tested, we’ve all been frustrated.  Not only as a business or organization, but just as people.

We have all endured, suffered loss and have struggled to get through this historic year.  Our 2020 Chairman of the Board, Don Williamson selected “Make History” as his theme for this year (it was selected in October 2019). Make History truly went viral with our hometown of CORONA (CA) now being wrongly named in the worldwide pandemic!

Many lost their jobs, businesses and lives. With a complete shut down for Non-Essential jobs (still that phrase bothers me, but I will refrain from going on a tangent).

With that said, I’d like to concentrate on the good.  Our community really pulled together to survive this, supporting each other and the business community. The industries hit hard, restaurants and personal care (haircuts, manicures etc.) Heavens, living with a bunch of ladies, those are essential!!

I know that many of you, as I did, developed a new found appreciation for what we used to take for granted. The ease of going out to dinner, to the movies, having friends over, socializing, and, yes, events… not a thing of the past, but something I am truly looking forward to recapturing in 2021.

So as we move forward, let us all remember that we are a strong, resilient town. CORONA, CA is the former Lemon Capital of the World. At the CORONA Chamber we constantly make Lemonade from the Lemons handed to us. And we can do this as long as we support each other and our local businesses.

We pray all of you stay safe, diligent and dedicate to making sure that the future is bright for CORONA and surrounding communities. As we begin to focus on Creating Vision (2021 Board Chair Kim Mabon’s theme), I want to send a Thank You to our business community, to the many individuals for being part of this great CORONA that I have called home since 1958.

Thank you to our amazing Board of Directors and our membership for continuing to support the Chamber so that we can continue to work for you.

There are tough decisions ahead, and I am confident we can get through all challenges…. Remember the CORONA Chamber is your Resource for Prosperity and we look forward to working with you.

On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of the CORONA Chamber of Commerce, Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas and have a Safe, Healthy and Happy New Year.
