On February 27, 2026, at approximately 2:16 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team received information about a stolen vehicle traveling on Highway 95. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description moving southbound near 8th Avenue in Blythe and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver did not comply and sped away, leading deputies to initiate a pursuit.
The suspect vehicle entered Interstate 10, crossed into Arizona, and exited at Exit 1. The chase continued onto dirt roads near the Colorado River by Frontage Road and Oxbow Road. During an attempt by deputies to make a U-turn, the suspect rear-ended their patrol car before continuing eastbound along Frontage Road.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled near Ehrenberg-Cibola Road. Deputies identified the driver as Justin Jellerson, a 43-year-old resident of Kingman, Arizona. He was taken into custody without further incident and booked into Blythe Jail on charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, assault on a peace officer, and possession of a controlled substance. Neither Jellerson nor any deputy was injured during the incident.
