Mark Takano, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 39th district, has recently shared several updates via social media regarding his ongoing work and future endeavors. Takano, who succeeded Jerry Lewis in Congress in 2013, continues to focus on issues such as discrimination, working families, corporate accountability, and the humane treatment of migrants.

On December 4, 2024, Takano announced his new role as First Vice-Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). In this capacity, he expressed commitment to addressing challenges ahead. "It is an honor to serve as the next First Vice-Chair of @CAPAC. We face tremendous challenges in the years ahead, but I will work tirelessly to ensure that every American can pursue their dreams free of discrimination."

The following day on December 5, Takano highlighted his collaboration with Representative Greg Casar. He stated his intention to support working families and hold corporations accountable. "Looking forward to working with Rep. Casar to fight for working families, advance justice, and hold corporations accountable."

Later that same day, Takano reiterated his stance against the Adelanto Detention Facility due to its treatment of migrants. He joined colleagues in advocating for its closure as part of efforts to uphold migrant dignity. "For years I have called out the Adelanto Detention Facility for their inhumane actions. I was proud to join my colleagues this week in calling for the closure of this facility to protect the dignity of migrants."
