Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) issued a statement regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint meeting of Congress.

“I’m thankful that Prime Minister Netanyahu was able to speak before Congress today and describe how essential the relationship is between America and Israel. Netanyahu is absolutely correct in pointing out that ‘Our enemies are your enemies. Our fight is your fight. And our victory will be your victory.’ Iran and its terrorist proxies want to eliminate the state of Israel and harm America. We must meet the threat posed by the Iranian regime with strength and resolve along with our allies."

Netanyahu also said, ‘Give us the tools faster, and we will finish the job faster.’ I introduced the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, H.R. 8369, to do exactly that. By passing my legislation months ago, a majority of the House sent a clear message that the Biden administration should not withhold military articles from Israel. The will of Congress and the American people must be carried out in support of Israel."

"Few nations have faced the size and scope of unprovoked attacks by hostile enemies as Israel has endured since October 7th of last year. Prime Minister Netanyahu did not choose this fate for his country, but he has met this existential threat to his people with a determination to protect them and secure a lasting peace for the future. America must be a partner in that endeavor. I stand with him, and I stand with our ally Israel.”
