Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) has expressed deep concerns about the current state of America in response to President Joe Biden's recent State of the Union address. Calvert highlighted various issues plaguing the nation, stating, "Everywhere Americans look, our country is on the decline."
Calvert pointed out the economic challenges faced by American workers, noting that prices have surged by 17.9% since Biden took office. He also raised alarm over the chaotic situation at the border, with nearly 9 million illegal crossings and a flow of deadly drugs like fentanyl. Calvert emphasized the importance of taking action on border security, stating, "House Republicans are the only body who has passed border security measures. It’s long past time for President Biden and Senate Democrats to act."
The Congressman criticized Biden's leadership following the withdrawal from Afghanistan, stating that it has emboldened adversaries such as Iran, China, and Russia. He called for a response to their aggression with strength and resolve, alongside international allies. Calvert expressed concerns about national security priorities taking a backseat to Biden's re-election interests, citing examples like the Biden campaign's presence on Tik Tok and the Administration's handling of issues related to Israel.
Despite the perceived lack of leadership from the White House, Calvert emphasized the importance of Congress governing and fighting for issues that matter to Americans. He pledged to continue advocating against inflationary spending, supporting domestic energy production, securing the border, and providing resources to law enforcement and the military.
Calvert concluded by reaffirming his commitment to finding solutions to the challenges faced by constituents in the 41st Congressional District, stating, "I stand ready to work with anyone interested in shaping a brighter future for America."
