City of Moreno Valley issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and members of the City Council dedicated the plaque for the nearly complete Civic Center Amphitheater & Park located at Alessandro Blvd. and Veterans Way.
The new amphitheater boasts state-of-the-art audio and video technology and will immediately take its place as one of the Inland Empire's premier outdoor performance venues.
"Our City has long needed a public facility like this, a beautiful gathering place that can serve as a showcase for local talent and to host local and regional events," said Mayor Gutierrez.
The Amphitheater & Park will host City events, such as the summertime MoVal Rocks/MoVal Movies series, El Grito, Day of the Dead, Snow Day and Farmers Market, and community cultural performances including Ballet Folklorico and a wide variety of other dance and music, as well as dramatic and comedic stagings.
The Civic Center Amphitheatre & Park project was funded by developer impact fees.
