The Riverside Sheriff’s Corrections Central Investigations Unit announced on April 3 the in-custody death of Maurice Landon Williamson, a 35-year-old male from Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the statement, Williamson was admitted to a local hospital for treatment of an existing diagnosed illness.
Authorities said that Williamson received medical care until his condition worsened. With the consent of his family, he was placed on supportive care but later died. Hospital physicians pronounced him deceased, and his family has been notified.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Williamson’s death is ongoing. The department said no further information is available at this time.
