The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced on May 16 that it is investigating the deaths of two individuals found at a residence in Bermuda Dunes. Deputies were dispatched to the 79000 block of Montego Bay Drive for a welfare check on May 15 at 11:59 a.m., where they discovered Donald Whitaker, age 80, and Karen Whitaker, age 79, both suffering from traumatic injuries. The victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Central Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Authorities said no arrests have been made and investigators are working to identify anyone involved in this incident.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information will be released at this time,” Sergeant Mike Kelleher said.
