Palm Springs man dies after incident on E. Vista Chino

A 56-year-old man from Palm Springs, identified as Ricardo Marano, died on January 18, 2026. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s report, Marano was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m. on a roadway located on E. Vista Chino, approximately a quarter mile east of N. Avenida Caballero in Palm Springs.

The incident occurred at the same location where Marano sustained his injuries earlier that day. The specific time of injury is unknown. The Palm Springs Police Department is conducting the investigation under case number 2601P-3786.

Authorities have notified next of kin. All further inquiries regarding this case should be directed to the investigating agency, the Palm Springs Police Department.
