A motorcyclist died after a single-vehicle collision on Railroad Canyon Road and Church Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department on May 10. Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene at approximately 11:00 p.m. on May 9, where they found the rider unresponsive with significant injuries.
The incident is significant as it resulted in a fatality and has prompted an ongoing investigation by law enforcement authorities. The identity of the deceased was confirmed as Joshua Coan, a 44-year-old resident of Menifee.
Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures upon arrival but were unable to revive Coan, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Team has taken over the investigation into what caused the crash.
