On December 29, 2025, at around 6:20 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a major traffic collision at the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Frederick Street. The incident involved two vehicles, both with significant damage. When authorities arrived, they found that both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles.
Both individuals were transported to a local hospital with severe injuries. One of the drivers, Yoseph Asfaw, age 37 and a resident of Moreno Valley, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station took over the investigation. It was determined that Misty Britan, age 42 and a resident of Perris, was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. After consultation with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, Britan was arrested and will face charges of vehicular homicide.
