Mark Takano, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 39th district since 2013, has recently addressed a range of national issues on his official social media account.
On January 12, 2026, Takano posted concerns about political interference in the Federal Reserve, stating, “Congress cannot be complicit in Trump’s hostile takeover of the Fed. EVERY Republican must join in ensuring the Fed stays independent and our country’s economic future is left to professionals, not Trump.”
The following day, on January 13, he turned his attention to consumer protection regarding subscription services. He wrote, “Subscriptions have many tricks to have you paying for services you don’t want or use. It’s time to make subscriptions more transparent and put more money back in your pocket.”
Later that same day, Takano advocated for equal treatment of transgender students by the judiciary: “The Supreme Court must recognize the dignity and existence of trans students and provide them the same opportunities as their peers — that includes sports. @EqualityCaucus”
Takano has represented California’s 39th District since replacing Jerry Lewis in Congress in 2013. Born in Riverside, California in 1960 and a Harvard University graduate with a BA earned in 1983, Takano continues to reside in Riverside while serving his district.
