I extend my condolences to his family and constituents. We disagreed on much but found common ground promoting California agriculture and taking care of wildfire victims.”
The following day, January 7, 2026, Takano expressed concerns regarding U.S. policy toward Venezuela after attending a classified briefing. He wrote: “Today’s classified briefing showed that the Trump Administration cannot answer basic questions about what comes next in Venezuela. Takano was born in Riverside, California in 1960 and continues to reside there at age 62. He graduated from Harvard University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
