A 59-year-old man from Indio, California, has died following an incident that occurred on December 31, 2025. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as Luis Perez-Garcia.
According to information released by the Coroner’s Bureau, Perez-Garcia was found deceased at 9:10 p.m. on Van Buren Street, approximately 141 feet south of Stowers Street in Indio. The location where he was injured is also listed as the same roadway.
The time of injury remains unknown. The Indio Police Department is leading the investigation under case number 2025I-05882.
The coroner confirmed that next of kin have been notified. “For additional information please refer to investigating agency,” according to the statement from officials.
