CALIFORNIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Santana Park Playground is Officially Open!

Plygd

City of Corona issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

On Wednesday, December 16th, we held a ribbon-cutting for the new playground at Santana Park. Santana Park is Corona's second fully accessible and, more importantly, another inclusive playground. It features a massive pirate ship, boulders to climb, swings, imaginative play elements, ground-level activities, and the rubberized surfacing underneath will serve as a treasure map.

The addition of the rubberized surfacing throughout means that you can walk run, or wheel your way to all parts of the playground, including along the map and all the way to the treasure chest.

Inclusive playgrounds remove barriers to play and provide a "sensory-rich" experience for everyone—children of all abilities play together. Santana Park Playground joins Lincoln Park as part of Corona's inclusive playgrounds available to the whole community.

One other important point of note, our ship was named, after a community survey garnered hundreds of responses, Crown O' the Sea by two residents. We will recognize them for doing so at a City Council Meeting in January.
